van Gogh's Color Palette
I always wondered what colors Van Gogh used in his paintings.
After a little research, I discovered that in the beginning, he used raw umber, raw sienna and olive green for the miners, weavers and peasant farm labors who were his subjects. (Though Company - Palettes of Vincent van Gogh).
Later, following the Impressionists style he started using the following pigments. (vangoghreproductions.com/art-techniques/palette). Occasionally, he deliberately restricted his palette, such as with sunflowers which are almost entirely yellows. (Though Company - Palettes of Vincent van Gogh).
Now, all I have to do now is paint very rapidly, using paint straight out of the tube, have thick brush strokes and produce one painting per day.
