Introducing our Guest Artist Morgan Hampton

Morgan Hampton’s college education in architectural engineering and industrial design led, after graduation from Texas Tech to Ling Temco Vought in Dallas where he an aerospace division technical illustrator. Due to the nature of his work, he began development of his artistic realism style. Ultimately his profession career to him from Texas to assignments in New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California thus allowing an opportunity to experience the scenic beauty of the southwest U.S. and as direct result to fourth develop his interest in art  and continue his draw and painting style. Today, his preferred mediums include pencil, pen and ink, watercolor and acrylics. His subject matter focus is primarily centered on ranch life, hill country communities and coastal scenery.

 

While on assignment to Ft. Huachuca, Arizona in the 1970’s Morgan was an active member of the Huachuca Art Association and served as is’s president in 1972 -73. Ultimately having relocated to the San Antonia area in 1997 and retiring in 2002, Morgan has enjoyed country. Living in Fair Oaks Each where is is active in the local art community. Morgan is a past member of the San Antonio River Art Group and a current member of the Boerne Art League and George Professional Artists.

 

HIs work has been exhibited in Arizona, the Lodge in Cloudcroft, NM, the San Antonio Rive Art Gallery in Old Town San Antonio, Rainbird Gallery in Blanco, TX, The Art Gallery in Wimberley TX and Boerne at Texas Treasures River South Gallery and various Boerne Businesses and the Yellow Rose Gallery in Rockport, TX. Currently in Helotes Gallery, Helotes TX.

 

Morgan serves on the Board of the Hill Country Council for the Arts and is the founder of Morgan Hampton Arts located in Fair Oaks Ranch, TX.
